Merric Boyd 1959

Merric Boyd is considered to be Australia’s finest ceramicist.

He was the founder of Murrumbeena Pottery. His pots were famous for their unique corot like designs. He was also a fine draughtsman.

During the final decade of his life he devoted his time to drawing, producing “naive” drawings of animals.

He is the father of famous artistic children – Arthur, Lucy, Guy, David and Mary Boyd.
